Selection Criteria for the Neal R. Gamsky Quality of Student Life Award

Qualifications

  • Must have made a significant contribution to the quality of student life, which is readily acknowledged as such by peers and/or students
  • Must currently hold a position in the Division of Student Affairs
  • Must be a full-time professional (A/P or Civil Service) staff member in the Division of Student Affairs for at least three years

Nomination Packet Materials

  • Neal R. Gamsky Quality of Student Life Award Nomination Form
  • Letter of nomination that addresses the examples outlined below
  • Letter of support from the nominee’s director (if not the nominator)
  • Letter of support from nominee’s supervisor (if not the nominator)
  • Letter of support from a student (if not the nominator)

Examples of Enhancing the Quality of Life for Students (Letter of nomination should provide examples of the nominee’s work in these areas)

  • Impacting student lives in positive ways
  • Motivating students and providing opportunities for students to achieve their goals
  • Exemplifying the core values of Illinois State University in daily interactions with students
  • Serving as a role model to students and staff in Student Affairs

It is very important that the nomination packet be as complete and thorough as possible to assure full consideration of your nominee. Late materials will not be considered. The recipient will be announced at the Division of Student Affairs Holiday Celebration on December 5, 2007.

The nomination deadline is Friday, October 26, 2007.
