The Division of Student Affairs borrowed its comprehensive program review process from Texas A & M University. Information from Texas A&M and Southwest Texas State University indicated that comprehensive program reviews in Student Affairs serve many purposes. The most important purpose of the review is to improve departments and programs and to identify opportunities for future development. CPR is a systematic review; it is both descriptive and evaluative. CPR assesses what an office does and how well it performs to that end. CPR is forward looking and is linked to priorities and strategic planning. Additionally, CPR provides a means to show accountability to multiple constituencies. CPR provides a systematic mechanism to monitor the status, effectiveness, efficiency, and progress of programs and services in the Division of Student Affairs. It yields information that allows the Division to do the following:
