Institute for Leadership Development

Illinois State University has a rich history of offering students outstanding leadership opportunities and the Division of Student Affairs continues to build strong student leaders. The newly established Institute for Leadership Development strives to take the student leader experience at Illinois State to a whole new level.

Launched under Illinois State University’s first ever campaign, Redefining “normal”, the Institute for Leadership Development was the Division of Student Affairs’ key initiative in the campaign. Outright gifts, multi-year pledges, and estate commitments totaling more than $1 million have helped lay the foundation for this outstanding endeavor. The Division's success in creating the Institute is thanks to many generous donors who have provided every Illinois State student with the opportunity to fully realize his or her leadership potential.

You can learn more about the programs of the institute through the Leadership and Service unit within the Dean of Students Office. In addition, the Division of Student Affairs continues to seek financial support, volunteers, speakers, and outreach opportunities to enhance the Institute for Leadership Development.
